Piercing Aftercare

 

 

Never touch your new piercing. Your hands are dirty! You touch everything everyone else touches all day, and if you touch your piercing you transfer all that bacteria to the new hole in your skin.

 

2-3 times a day, clean your piercing:

1. Wash your hands really well.

2. Wet your piercing with warm water and remove the crusties.

3. Put soap in your hands and work up lather.

4. Lather up the piercing, and rotate the hoop through the piercing so the lather can get inside.

5. Rinse well, again rotating the piercing through the hole to rinse inside.

 

After each cleaning, do a sea salt soak:

1. You can pick up sea salt at any grocery store.

2. Mix 1/8 tsp. of sea salt to one coffee mug full of warm water.

3. Use a cotton ball to absorb some of the mixture and squeeze it out over the piercing.

4. Rotate the piercing to get the salt mixture inside.

5. Pat the piercing dry with a fresh, clean paper towel.
